North Canton Primary Preschool

NORTH CANTON PRIMARY PRESCHOOL

Classrooms are balanced between typical peers and peers with special needs, and applicants are screened to ensure a healthy compatibility in each of the half-day sessions for children ages three, four and five.

Busing is available, but not guaranteed for all of our students, to ensure convenient access to the centrally located North Canton Primary Preschool. Visit our Department of Transportation (Bus Garage) page for bus routes.

We invite you to tour the North Canton Primary Preschool at our Open House in August and see for yourself how we’re starting students off on the right educational path. If you would like to schedule a tour or discuss registration, please
contact North Canton Primary School at 330-497-5645 or by email at Tammy.McClung@northcantonschools.org. Enrollment is open to North Canton residents.

The North Canton Primary Preschool, which is operated by the North Canton City School District, has been recognized by the Ohio Department of Education as a 5-star Step Up To Quality preschool. Our dedicated staff members have advanced credentials and skillsets that focus on the needs of individual children so that they develop the foundational skills of peers their age prior to kindergarten. Our teachers follow the Ohio Early Learning Standards and Developmental Standards that will prepare students for the K-5 curriculum used by the North Canton City School District. The North Canton Primary Preschool maintains smaller classroom ratios to nurture the personalized instruction you would expect from an educational provider. Students may participate in art education and physical education classes on a weekly basis from a certified and licensed teacher. We also have three speech pathologists on staff and a school psychologist, as well as access to a school nurse provided by Akron Children’s Hospital and support for those students who require occupational and/or physical therapy. Our focus is on developing the social-emotional and academic nature of each child through individualized, small group, and large group interactions.
